Job Description for project manager

Key Accountabilities:

·         Responsible for the delivery of allocated projects from inception to completion in accordance with the fixed capital plan.

  • Provide support in delivery of “on brand adhering to the latest design guide.
  • Interface with external consultants related to the project
  • Manage contractors who in turn are responsible for the delivery of assigned capital projects including when requested the technical/ specification elements through the lease negotiations with developers
  • Manage the creation and updating of the project schedule for all their projects, making certain that they are regularly reviewed, updated and reported upon to agreed timescales (using the agreed program reports).
  • Collaborate with the Country Manager  to ensure all new footage opportunities are robustly reviewed and prepared for final approval with Property and Development manager
  • Interface with the project co-ordinator to procurement material (e.g.-LED) for each project as per the predefined criteria and as approved and  directed by the Property and Development manager
  • Manage the progression of project activity to maintain critical paths.
  • Interface with external project managers and contractors to ensure the project plan is on track in terms of time and budget.
  • Manage either directly or via their external project manager disputes  which arise, delays, changes to briefs and sign off’s through a robust change control procedure .
  • Work closely with external consultants to assure that design complies with all health and safety aspects within the local jurisdiction, as well as mall or landlord criteria
  • Ensure all municipal, mall CED, electrical approvals are taken and obtained on the approved design 
    • Collaborate with the Country Manager to ensure all projects are fully briefed, appraised, and activities delivered adopting all agreed handover protocols.
    • Implement project management techniques/processes are adopted consistently across all projects whilst providing advice to retail and design areas.
    • Report to Property and Development Manager on all audited processes across all capital projects.
    • Manage and update project status reporting to the Property and Development Manager
    • Ensure appropriate handover to retail team and signoff.
    • Travel regularly to sites and compile snagging lists.
    • Ensure all snags are as per  list are completed on time and a final signoff from the Country Manager is taken
    • Ensure all “as built design’ and drawings are issued to property and design manager on completion
    • Undertake PIR, performance review of external consultants and report learning’s and action points.

    • Meet and agree performance targets and have a personal development plan
    • Any other works assigned for business

    Qualifications  & Experience

    • Certifications in Project management (PMI), Process management
    • Prefer education in Engineering , Architecture ,Interior design or a technical discipline
    • 7-8 yrs experience in retail/ big box retailing
    ·         Create reliable, collaborative business partnerships focused on achieving positive results
     What you are responsible to achieve
    ·           Manage the project schedule effectively to deliver stores in line with timelines, within budget and agreed quality specs
