IT Infrastructure Assistant Job Description – Database
  1. Installation, configuration and patching of Oracle server software and related products
  2. Installation and setting  of Oracle databases for GOLD, Evoucher, EBS, aftersales and other databases
  3. Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures for all databases
  4. Ensure backup are regularly tested on test/backup environment for recoverability
  5. Ensure all disaster recovery procedures and components are up to date and regularly rehearsed.
  6. Perform daily database monitoring activities, verifying the availability of database with acceptable performance
  7. Take care of the Database design and implementation
  8. Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges)
  9. Perform periodic data retention activities on GOLD database
  10. Perform sales recovery for GOLD and BO when needed
  11. Perform database tuning and performance monitoring
  12. Assist in application tuning and performance monitoring
  13. Setup and maintain documentation and standards for GOLD, BO, Evoucher, Aftersales and other databases
  14. Monitor databases and plan for growth and changes (capacity planning)
  15. Work as part of a team and provide after hour support when required
  16. Interface with Oracle Corporation for technical support.
  17. Assist IT Infrastructure Team in administration of GOLD and BO servers
  18. Assist in Oracle Application Suites administration tasks with installation, upgrades of R12 Application & database, cloning & patching and other related tasks.
  19. Perform other tasks as requested by IT Infrastructure Team Lead
  20. Escalate to country IT manager / IT Infrastructure Team Lead of any issues that require urgent attention
