Job Description for Logistics Co-Ordinator

Stakes / Context

Logistics Coordinator will ensure that replenishment orders of the shops are received & despatched in full in most cost effective manner to meet the growing demand of company’s products.

In addition all the discrepancies /issues of the shops are resolved in a most friendly manner within the given deadline.

Mission:

Ensure that all freight is shipped to the correct destination using best carrier, price & desired level of service. Directs & coordinates activities of hauliers to provide all shops fast, efficient & safe transportation.

Main responsibilities:

-Ensure that all outbound shipments including promotions, consumables are processed & shipped    by planned order dates of shops within strict service criteria.

-Prepare Loading Sheets with the aim of fully utilizing the available shipping capacity at lowest transportation cost.

-Maintain a liaison with hauliers, internal customers to ensure that products are dispatched on time.

-Consistently monitoring haulier’s performance through analysis of Shipment forms & continuous improvement.

-Defines & recommends extension of routes, shipping schedule to improve shipping services at lowest possible cost.

-Strong coordination with hauliers to obtain best, fastest & most economical transportation service.

-Dealing with shops to resolve all their issues while identifying further scope of improvement in delivering customer service

-Develop & track Logistics KPI,MIS information for ongoing monitoring performance of logistics section

Position in the organisation:

Report to Logistics Manager

Performance criteria:

Main professional performance criteria is :

-Customer Service Level delivered to shops

-Ability to proactively handle & resolve customer queries, issues within the given timeframe

-Dealing with 3 PL service providers & monitor their performance

Required Profile:

Education:

University Degree with post-graduation in Logistics

Professional Competencies:

Familiar with (professional competencies required, in priority ranking) :

r  Minimum experience of 3 years in Logistics /warehousing/transportation

r  Strong Co ordination & follow up skills

r  IT literacy to advance standard with MS Office i.e. MS Excel ,Word , ERP package 

r  Attention to detail ,organisational & initiative skills

Working Condition

-Work is performed in office environment
