Job Description
Merchandise Planning Manager
Key Accountabilites
To control and strategically drive the plans for buying, stock distribution, budgeting, space planning and supply chain processes in a fast paced and demanding retail environment
Financial
Conduct preseason, in season and post season planning along with the buying team, ensuring that the processes at each stage are accurately defined and understood to achieve productivity and profitability
Ability to interpret financial sales data to make decisions and recommendations that impact the business Have an understanding of the process and methods of gross margin profitability planning
Support in drafting annual and preseason sales and finance budget for each territory/store in line with organizational objectives
Carry out an in-depth post season analysis by reviewing product performance in each category through sales, profits and markdowns; And hence plan ahead based on its understanding
Operational
Lead merchandise planners to build and refine plans for departments based on seasonal strategies and opportunities, with a focus on profitability
Drive alignment of assortment plans with cross functional partners including business planning, merchandising, buying, accounts, sales and distribution
To review key measures involving reduction in turnaround time for replenishment and in average store stock cover
Always oversee product range, maintain size availability and minimize markdowns
To influence and drive new preretailing and pack size initiatives

Ensure development of season range by season hits, price points and margins as well as product variety as per store segmentation based on demographics & sales history To participate in store sales and stock targets for events and promotions to initiate any corrective action to enhance organizations top and bottom line earnings
Active involvement in new projects involving store openings through planning area allocation according to department level along with sales budget and inventory planning
People Management
Recommend key actions to the team to replenish top styles or cancel low performing styles, to maximize sales, profit and inventory metrics

Education and Certification
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management Certification
Planning Management would be preferred
Knowledge and Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office


Strong Organizational and Interpersonal skills Good Multitasking and Problem Solving Skills Strong Analytical and Mathematical skills
Experience
6 to 7 years of experience in a Fashion Retail Organization
Preferred background in Buying, Planning and Allocation/ Distribution
